About Sarah Krause
Sarah Krause is currently in her senior year at the University of Southern Maine, graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a voice concentration. Throughout her four years at the Osher School of Music, Ms. Krause has pursued her passion for music by exploring and performing in these ensemble settings from Chamber Singers to The Composers Ensemble. She especially enjoys performing in a variety of musical genres: Classical, Opera, Jazz, R&B and musical theater. Her singing repertoire includes Latin, French, Spanish, Italian and German. She won second place in the Maine NATS competition, competing in the Classical category in both Divisions V (2023) and VI (2024).
Ms. Krause appreciates engaging in both sacred and secular music. At the age of thirteen, she began her musical journey cantoring and singing for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland, ME, along with participating in weddings, funerals, religious special events, including Bishop James Ruggieri's Installation Mass.
On November 24th, 2019, Ms. Krause performed at Carnegie Hall with maestro Eric Whitacre titled "The Holiday Music of Eric Whitacre". Eight months later, July 19th, 2020, she participated in his Virtual Choir 6 YouTube premiere of Sing Gently. Additionally, she sang on his album titled Sing As One: Ten Years of Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Choir released December 4th, 2020.
She performed recently in two community concerts as a soloist located at The First Parish Congregational Church in Yarmouth, Maine; Celebrating Women Composers (March 2025) & Spooky Concert, a Halloween-themed concert (October 2024). Ms. Krause is a member of the ChoralArt Masterworks, directed by Dr. Robert Russell, and will be performing Carmina Burana at the Merrill Auditorium with the Portland Symphony Orchestra in April of 2025 and singing Vierne’s Messe Solennelle at the Basilica in Lewiston, September 2025.
Ms. Krause would like to express her passion and gratitude for music by performing and creating all types of musical genres for all ages to enjoy.
